I represent the radical faction of a small foreign nation's armed forces. We have kidnapped beta-7 and unless you do exactly as we say, he will be subjected to 48 straight hours of "Burgertime." This will result in him suffering trance-states during which he will ransack the condiment bins at fast food restaurants, barf on senior citizens, steal infant formula and perform illegal acts of karaoke at the drive-thru mic.

I don't care if you hate me and no, I don't love everything with "beta" in it, but I am enjoying following this story and I'm sorry if my not falling in line and saying what everyone else is about Beta-7 offends you so much.
Perhaps you should learn how to control your anger somewhat. You should also know that if "fagget" is the worst thing you think you can say about me, then I wish you luck getting through your misplaced anger and I hope your parents accept you when you finally do come out of the closet.

I think it is sad the way some people just assume this is a big joke and make fun of it. For all we know there is really some poor kid wandering the streets of SF with a very severe mental defect.

if you have the disks, go to a hacker you can trust and have him/her decode whatever you have left. the games for consoles are programmed in c++ or even j++, so a good hacker will tell you if he/she finds anthing out of the ordinary withing a week

Are you under the impression that Sega actually intended that people would tackle mailboxes after playing their games? Looking at the code won't tell you of an unintentional effect "withing a week." If the coders behind the project, who had a much more intimate knowledge of the code, didn't pick up on anything that may cause human beings to "get all confused-like, and think they're football players with the tackling and such" then even a very good hacker who didn't have a Major in Psychology would pick up on it.

This isn't Sega, ESPN or VC doing this......
They wouldn't lead on that the game causes these
symptoms that this DA is explaining. If Sega,
ESPN, or VC was behind this they would only lead
on that the game is 'so real like' that players
continue the realism and carry out football tactics
in real life. i.e. tackling on the streets, etc.
But not that the game is disorienting and causes the
fathomed side-effects. This is just a lame-ass Madden/Gaystation2 fan, or
EA employee trying to destroy Sega/ESPN/VC's
reputation. Its a shame, cause this game is bad ass and will be the
downfall to the sorry ass Madden franchise when all
the little Madden 'faggets' crossover to the best football game franchise!

It really is possible that the subliminal Beta-7 found in the beta copy of the game could cause his symptoms.
The subconscious human mind is still a mystery to scientists, so there really is no telling what is possible with subliminal messages. While science has found no credible evidence that subliminals in movies and television have any effect on the viewer, there have been many studies about how gamers supress eye blinks when playing certain games and it is possible that the introduction of subliminals under these conditions could cause some form of hypnotism.

If this is the case, Beta-7 should really be looking for trigers in the outside world that send him into a hypnotic trance. If he discovers those, he could get a hypnotist to reverse the effect.

I saw Beta-7 yesterday in SF!
At least I think it was Beta-7.
I was buying a pair of jeans at the Gap on Haight and I
swear to god I saw this kid walking around dazed, like he
was really high. He had bruises all over his arms and face
and he was just sitting outside the Ben & Jerry's across
the street for a long time. Nothing unusual about that
especially in Haight, but all of a sudden he just got up
and hauled ass and tackled this guy with a cone!
Everyone freaked because he passed out and the guy
was really pissed off and he had ice cream all over his
face but the Ben & Jerrys dude gave him a free cone and
he calmed down. They were trying to revive the kid but I
had to cruise so I don't know what happened to him. You
might want to check with the SF police or call the Ben &
Jerrys here and find out more info. It was pretty strange
and I couldn't believe I was actually seeing Beta-7 in
person.
I looked around to see if anyone had a video camera but
no one did at least that I saw.
I hope you find him okay, because he definitely needs help.
