JUST GOT A TACKLE VIDEO!

Somebody just anonymously emailed me this video, saying:

"A friend sent me one of your "blackout" videos because back in April we were rollerblading and this guy tackled my friend. It was pretty weird. No one was really hurt but when the guy came to he acted like he had no idea what had happened. Was this you?"

If anybody out there knows the tackler in this video, PLEASE have him contact me!

Posted by: at July 13, 2003 10:06 AM

How could a game make you act that way? Now if you had a seizure I would understand, but this? If this is true then you need to go see a doctor or something because you have some problems.

Posted by: at July 13, 2003 10:44 AM

LOL! Sega proabbly has a new marketing team and it's working like a charm. It helps maintains the stupid people's dumbness, and helps maintaining intelligent people's sense of humor.

all i can say about everything so far Beta-7.. this stuff is pretty fucked up.

Posted by: ISF at July 13, 2003 03:40 PM

Man people shut the fuck up!!! You are so fucking stupid. A game cannot cause this, it is NOT POSSIBLE. God I can't believe people can be so fucking retarded!!!

Posted by: CJN at July 13, 2003 05:43 PM

yeah what the hell is wrong with you people! more gameplay vids please

Posted by: at July 13, 2003 06:40 PM

Our problem is that you are so fucking stupid that you believe that a video game can cause this shit and that any of this is for real. Being a genius, I just can't fucking stand seeing people be so stupid.

Posted by: CJN at July 13, 2003 10:32 PM

Wow, CJN a genius? You'd never know from reading his posts.

Interesting. A friend in a forum elsewhere directed me to this website, but didn't really give any specifics. He just thought that we should be made aware of some type of potential publicity regarding SegaSports ESPN NFL franchise. It seems to me as if while playing the game in first person perspective, your mind may perceive something onscreen as a trigger, a sort of subliminal suggestion of what you should do physically. It's weird, and probably warrants in-depth study by psychologists. Did you ever play organized football in your youth?

A shame that Sega would instead choose to sweep something like this under the rug... It would be a bigger shame if this turned out to be a hoax too - I certainly see how some might feel that way. However, I am willing to keep an open mind regarding this.

I know that other people suffer ill effects from viewing visual effects in videogames that don't bother me at all. My younger Brother could not watch me play Tomb Raider on Saturn years ago - it gave him fits of vertigo and nausea. Today he finds it hard to watch almost any high motion 3D videogame on his 51" projection screen. However, he has no problem at all playing similar games on his PC monitor.

I have a problem too when playing video games on my TV becuase of the TV's low refresh rate I guess. I get watery eyes and nausea but I have no problems on my PC if I set the refresh rate on the monitor to 85mhz. I can play 1st person shooter all day on the PC and nothing will happen to me but If I play Medal of Honor on the PS2 I will get a head ache in 2 minutes. I might past out if I play it for an hour.

Yes, SCOOTER, I'm a genius.

Anyways, I'm aware that stuff CAN be caused by TV and things like that, but this is reaching. No need to keep an open mind when it is in all likelyhood a hoax. For a guy who claims he wants to take the company down, he sure as hell is doing a good job of promoting their product.

Posted by: CJN at July 15, 2003 01:30 AM

Playing PC games with 1st person perspective such as Doom, etc. gives me dizzyness, nausea and headaches after playing for as little as ten minutes. I also got the exact same symptoms when I say The Blair Witch Project at the theater.
